My Approach To Therapy

Fort Collins, Colorado

It is not easy to take that first step to initiate therapy. I strive to make you feel welcomed and comfortable from the first phone call through the last day we meet. I deeply value the therapeutic relationship and strongly believe that a relationship is the starting ground for change. I create a safe place for you to share your story, find purpose and meaning, and become the person you want to be.

No two individuals are alike; therefore, no two therapeutic approaches should be alike. I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy drawing from several different therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Eye-Movement and Desensitization Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing.

Through the application of different modalities within these methods I strive to find the “why” behind present day symptoms and problems. Instead of a band-aid fix, which can lead to persistent problems, understanding the why gets to the root of the problem and can promote lasting change.
